The Youth Enterprise Trust (YET) ABN 70 819 002 258 is a Queensland based charity established in 1990 by Lloyd Hancock whose original mission highlighted the importance of connecting young adults through the exposure with wilderness. In 2003, through a large anonymous and tied donation, YET purchased Woodstock, a 121 hectare beautifully unique farm ideally positioned in the Gold Coast Hinterland, to build upon the founder’s vision. The property overlooks pristine mountain ranges, with gentle undulating slopes from higher country at the western boundary to the Albert River in the south, east and north.

Our vision is to improve the lives of young people through the engagement with the environment, education, and entrepreneurship.

YET has the goal at Woodstock, of being a facilitator and on-farm host for exchange in knowledge, skills, insights with particular focus on organisations concerned with land and its health, healthier communities, and the support and meaningful engagement of disadvantaged people in pursuit of engagement in the environment, education, and entrepreneurship.

YET view Woodstock as the interactive conduit of Land, Community and Young People, as symbolised by the 3 points of the Kurrajong tree's leaf, the YET symbol. YET intend on achieving this vision through guiding principles that include:

  • Education: Raising self-esteem, self-reliance, and work motivation

  • Environment: Deepen appreciation of Australia’s natural environment and encourage practical expression of conservation values

  • Entrepreneurship: Encourage small business opportunity and training

Woodstock

Woodstock is YET's home. As custodians of the land, we are excited to work with community partners to empower disadvantaged young people through enhancement of their protective factors to feel connected with their family, culture, and community. Our values are focused on ensuring benevolent relief is offered to our young people to feel a sense of community whilst embracing the therapeutic benefits of the land we step lightly on!
